Float The North Branch and Ride the Rails!

We’ll meet at Canal Place in Cumberland MD, a short shuttle ride to the boat launch on The North Branch of the Potomac. We’ll get each participant a tube and lifejacket and a small paddle if requested. If you;d like to rent a dry box or cooler tube please add it to your order.

Float nearly 3 miles down the scenic river, our staff will be at the take out ramp to assist. A shuttle bus will bring the group to Frostburg and shuttles depart approximately every 30 minutes.

Once in Frostburg, you’ll have time to grab lunch on your own or use picnic tables if you choose to pack a picnic. We suggest the Trail Inn Cafe and Mount Savage Firebrick Pizza Co which are right across the street from the Depot. At 3:00 you need to be back in front of the Depot to board up for a 15 mile downhill railbike ride back to Cumberland.

10:00 Bus will arrive, greet you and transport to river
10:15 – 10:30 Get on the river to float The North Branch
12:30 – 1:30 Arrive at Take out ramp
12:30, 1:00. 1:30 Shuttle service to Frostburg
12:45 – 3:00 Lunch, Museum, Coal Miners Memorial, Shop
3:00 Railbike Departure back to Cumberland
5:00 Arrive back in Cumberland
