Railbiking is a fun, pedal-powered excursion that rides along smooth, steel railroad tracks. There is no need to steer as the tracks will guide your way, leaving you free to take in the scenery and the special experience.

Yes, railbike tours consistently sell out, so we highly recommend booking your spot prior to arriving in Frostburg.

Absolutely! Railbiking excursions can be enjoyed by almost anyone. Infants will need to be secured in a front child carrier, such as Baby Bjorn, on their mom or dad’s chest. Toddlers may ride in their own seats and we can provide additional safety harnesses. No lap riding is permitted. Young children may not be able to reach the pedals but they will be able to sit back and enjoy the ride.

Great question! Bring your camera, water, sunscreen, sunglasses, closed-toe shoes, and appropriate clothing for the day’s weather. Please refrain from bringing any pets, drugs, alcohol, or smoking supplies. Smoking or vaping is not permitted on the tour, on the trolley, or in the depot.

Railbiking is extremely safe. We ride along railroad tracks that are not being used for any train traffic during our tour times, The Western Maryland Scenic Railroad may offer excursion train rides only when we are not on the rails. There is no need to worry about oncoming traffic. Tours are timed so that only one group is on the track at a time.
